Independence Bank is proud to be part of Norton Healthcare Foundation’s 17th annual Derby Divas event. What began as a party of 20 women grew to a record-breaking crowd of over 400 in 2022. This year’s attendees will enjoy an evening of Derby fashion, food, and fun on April 13 at Rodes For Him | For Her in The Rodes Building at 4938 Brownsboro Road. Event proceeds benefit Norton Cancer Institute, providing mammograms and other breast care services through the Norton Healthcare Mobile Prevention Center and the Derby Divas Breast Health Center at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Through the annual event, the Derby Divas have exceeded $1.76 million in funding to support breast health initiatives. Guests enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and shopping for the best in Derby finery, all with the knowledge that their attendance, ticket purchases, and donations support such a worthy cause in our community.
The 2023 event will honor two-time breast cancer survivor Heather Kleisner, who chose to receive care at the Norton Cancer Institute after physicians at other cancer centers, including Sloan-Kettering, told her she was in “excellent hands” with the Norton team.
“Bank President Louis R. Straub, II serves on the Norton Healthcare Foundation Board and sees how it, along with Derby Divas, impacts thousands of women in our community. Early detection and preventive screenings, such as mammograms, will save lives.”
