After announcing plans to enter the Shelby County market a year ago, Independence Bank has hit the ground running by assembling a team of talented bankers and opening their doors at its temporary office located in Village Plaza.

Leading the charge is market President, Brian Webb. Brian is a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and has been in banking for three decades. One of Brian’s first tasks was to assemble a team of top tier bankers who shared the same passion as he did, to serve their community and be able to make decisions locally. Banking is about relationships. It’s key to have individuals who live and serve this community.
Brian is joined by:

Tyler Long, VP, Commercial Loan Officer
Alisa Fackler, Asst. VP, Loan Officer
Mary Courtney, VP, Agriculture and Commercial Loan Officer
Matt Burgin, VP, Loan Officer
Kelly Perry, Location Manager
Cassie Fairfax, Loan Assistant
Kelly Peach, Customer Service Representative

In addition to the leadership of the team, the Bank has also put together a community board of directors that will also guide the direction of the Bank in Shelby County. Serving on the Independence Bank Board of Directors is: April Ethington, Tom Flowers, John Hunter, Josh Hurst and Wayne Karem. The Bank expects great things with their guidance and oversight.

When Independence Bank enters a market, we’re here. We’re committed. We call that being Here For Good. Here For Good has two meanings. The first being an investment in the market to be here and that means long term. Plans are underway to build a signature location similar to the Independence Bank locations currently built in Louisville and Frankfort that pay homage to Independence Hall in Philadelphia. This is to reinforce that we are here for good. We want to plant roots and serve Shelby County for many years to come.

In addition to longevity, it’s also about sustainability and being a good corporate citizen by doing good and giving back. Independence Bank is invested and involved in the communities it serves. In 2022, the Bank contributed over $1.4 million and countless hours of volunteer efforts to the places we call home.

The team at Independence Bank is just like you. We live in and love this community the same way you do. We are ready to meet your financial needs as well as roll up our sleeves and make this community better by giving a hand.

If you have not had a chance to meet our team, stop by our temporary office in Village Plaza at 65 Mack Walters Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065 and come see us.
