AT THE HEART OF INDEPENDENCE BANK’S MISSION IS A COMMITMENT TO SERVICE—NOT ONLY TO OUR CUSTOMERS ACROSS THE STATE BUT ALSO TO THE COMMUNITIES WE PROUDLY CALL HOME.

We believe that true service extends beyond transactions; it encompasses a dedication to uplifting those around us through volunteering and charitable giving. By seeking meaningful connections and actively engaging in support, we strive to create a positive impact that resonates far beyond our business.

Independence Bank is Here. For Good. We believe that as the Bank grows, so should the quality of life in our towns. Since the early days, the Bank has connected with the community by volunteering its most valuable assets: time and people. Today, employees still use their hands for projects throughout Kentucky. Now these efforts may be paired with financial contributions. In 2023, we donated more than $1 million dollars bank-wide to various projects, programs and non-profits by investing in important initiatives. Each employee receives up to 16 hours of paid volunteer time annually to lend a helping hand. The success of Independence Bank is not only built upon the confidence of its customers, but also its employees.

On Saturday, October 19th, hundreds of volunteers comprised of Bank employees and their families came alongside local non-profits and community organizations. Dubbed as a “Day of Good,” our local Frankfort team spent time working to support the Franklin County Women and Family Shelter by cleaning, sanding and painting picnic tables. We also helped the Salvation Army by sprucing up their local playground and laying new mulch.

As we came together to lift others up on October 19th for our “Day of Good,” we found out that the Frankfort community did the same for us. The State Journal announced that its readers named Independence Bank as their favorite bank again in 2024. Bank President in Franklin County Greg Burton expressed gratitude upon learning the news.

“We’re excited, yet humbled, to learn that we have won this accolade for the fourth year in a row,” Burton shared. “It is a testament to the tremendous staff we have here that goes above and beyond to provide everyday excellence.”

Our community-based financial institution has received this honor every year since 2021. What truly sets Independence Bank apart from competitors, Burton believes, is the unwavering dedication to its customers, community and employees. Burton stated, “We don’t just talk about everyday excellence and community involvement; we put it into action every day. Our incredible team truly cares.”
Looking to the future, Burton reflect upon his aspirations and vision: “My hope would be that we continue to grow and expand our presence in Frankfort to introduce more and more people to the Independence Bank way of doing things while continuing to make a positive impact by always giving back.”

With thankfulness and appreciation, he says the standard remains continuing to offer the same high level of care that customers have come to expect, while already enthusiastically aiming to earn the title of Frankfort’s favorite bank for a fifth year.
