Berry Boujie brings sweet treats to farmers’ market

Inglish Hunter, owner of Berry Boujie, has been bringing a taste of sweetness to the Owensboro Regional Farmers Market. Berry Boujie specializes in specialty chocolate-covered strawberries and other treats and is quickly gaining a local following.

Hunter launched the business in 2017 after crafting treats as a hobby for her daughter’s birthday parties. Today, she’s at the market every Saturday, offering an assortment of chocolate-covered fruits and snacks, including grapes, pretzels, and Oreos.

“I decided to focus on strawberries and build a brand that reflects quality and a bit of fun,” said Hunter, who also works full-time as a program manager at Audubon Area Community Services. She has found a growing market for her products despite her busy schedule.

“The community has been very supportive,” she said. “People love the name and the idea, and I’m excited to bring more of it to them.”

Hunter is considering expanding Berry Boujie’s reach by starting online sales and shipping orders beyond Owensboro. Because of the popularity of her business name, she also plans to release branded merchandise.

Hunter is a graduate of Owensboro High School and Kentucky Wesleyan College. She credits her business education with helping her navigate the challenges of running a small company. While she handles most of the work herself, her daughter occasionally pitches in at the market, bringing the story full circle to its family-oriented beginnings.

For now, Berry Boujie remains a weekend feature at the Owensboro Regional Farmers Market, where Hunter connects with customers face-to-face.

“It’s great to see people enjoy what I create,” she said. “I’m just happy to bring a little bit of joy to the community.”
